Current Project:
“The Politics of Global Maternal Health Initiatives.” SSHRC Insight Grant, 2017-2022, $168,716.
My current research examines transnational and local commitments to maternal health and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in Guatemala and Mexico. I am interested in the theoretical frameworks and methodological processes that constrain and facilitate cooperation across borders. I am also committed to the work that is required of global community engagement, of building partnerships and hearing from people themselves, in a variety of situations and contexts, in order to understand the complexities of maternal health politics and SRHR policies.
